Last week DLA Piper Norway hosted a very interesting event focused on using the “commercial power of AI”. We were lucky enough to be able to attend, and want to share some take-aways:
We all have gaps in our understanding of AI and/or how it can provide value, and as Torgeir Andrew Waterhouse said; THAT'S OK!
DLA Piper’s 2022 AI governance report found that 36% of respondents rated supplier domain competency was average or poor, still 72% of companies are buying AI-powered tools from vendors. Sustainable value creation will rely on building a common understanding of potential value and trust in technology.
People (yes, we’re not obsolete yet) with domain expertise will play an integral role in ensuring that AI is used responsibly and sustainably – balancing policy, governance, and commercial value. Our view is that the key to unlocking the promised AI-revolution is allowing people to develop competency that bridges the gap between their domain and AI.
Do you believe companies are doing enough to facilitate skill development in their employees? What is your company providing sufficient opportunities?
A big thanks to DLA Piper Norway for putting on a great event, as well as the presenters and the panel for sharing their insights.
